Break Secure, a patented new cylinder that quickly gains popularity wherever it is offered, was specially developed by Mul-T-Lock’s innovative R&D team to meet a specific need: resisting manipulation attacks. Ordinary cylinders tend to break in the center when manipulated, allowing the door to be opened by the attacker. Break Secure is different: it snaps at the front, keeping the door locked and the burglars outside, and permitting the owners to open it with their regular Mul-T-Lock keys when they return.
Says Matt Rice, marketing communications manager at Mul-T-Lock U.K.: “Break Secure is a great success in the U.K.’s residential market. It solves an acute problem for homeowners, especially since many front doors are made of light and shakable PVC material, and are therefore most susceptible to manipulation attacks. In Turkey, where Mul-T-Lock’s selling unit began marketing Break Secure cylinders in 2007, sales grew by 160% in the first year. 300 models demonstrating how the revolutionary cylinder works were set up in shops all over the country, and the product quickly became an enormous bestseller. “We got incredible exposure through this unique cylinder,” says President Mehmet Karamete. “People who didn’t even know Mul-T-Lock previously are now asking for our products.
