| Mul-T-Lock Launches State-of-the-Art Plating Line |
|
3/12/2006
After years of dreaming, a full year of planning and construction, and a 1.2 million dollar investment, Mul-T-Lock launched its own state-of-the-art plating line at the company’s main facility in Yavne, Israel. "This is a very significant strategic step,” says President Shimon Shekel. “For decades we were dependent on subcontractors for plating. Now we have full control. The bottom line is that the new facility enables us to provide customers with much faster response times, combined with the finest plating quality available today.” The new plating line, designed specifically for Mul-T-Lock’s special needs, is based on the most stringent European standards. Fully automated and computerized, it ensures absolute precision in the highly sensitive plating process. The new line is also able to control more than 20 different plating processes simultaneously, significantly enhancing productivity and flexibility. Beyond the benefits to customers, Mul-T-Lock is especially proud of the focus placed on environmental responsibility . "A substantial portion of the cost of building the new line was invested in preventing environmental hazards", points out Micha Kimchi, VP Operations. "Potential problems of water, ground and air pollution were all meticulously addressed by the plating line’s designers." *All liquids used in the chemical processes are treated and purified in a special waste treatment facility. All of the water is recycled, wastes are safely disposed, and no pollutants reach the regular sewer system. * A special suction system removes poisonous gases emitted by chemicals in the tubs and carries them to an advanced air purification system. Here, numerous filters and cleansing procedures ensure that no pollutants are released into the atmosphere. * The entire facility, as well as each separate tub, is placed in a large fixed container that prevents the leakage of pollutants into the ground.
